Dr. Santos is involved in the use of cardiovascular noninvasive imaging modalities such as echocardiography, with the purpose of making an accurate cardiac diagnosis and to develop and assess new therapies. Her research interests include fetal echocardiography, 3 dimensional echocardiography, and the evaluation of ventricular function. Additionally, Dr. Santos is an active participant in Heart Care International, a non-profit organization that provides open-heart surgery for poor children and young adults in developing countries.
