Baylor University Medical Center, part of Baylor Scott & White Health, is a pioneer in organ transplant. Since our first transplant in 1986, our goal has been to transform stories in our communities. As we celebrate our 1,000th heart transplant, we want to thank the families, care teams and donors who help hearts get better.
Heart and Vascular
Heart and vascular services are offered to patients at both Baylor Dallas and Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital – the first North Texas hospital dedicated solely to the care and treatment of heart and vascular patients. Baylor Dallas’ Heart and Vascular Institute, in partnership with Baylor Scott & White Research Institute, coordinates more than 50 research studies involving cardiac surgery, cardiology, cardiac and vascular intervention, electrophysiology, vascular surgery and cardiovascular disease prevention.
Baylor Dallas was also the nation’s first hospital to receive the Gold Seal of Approval™ from The Joint Commission for the Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) program.
